May Your Life Be Like A Basket...Useful...Bountiful...Beautiful...

Basketmaster's Weavings is about my passions, much of which revolves around basket weaving. I weave with reed and I love teaching others to weave. Many of the patterns and styles that I show in the blog are geared to the beginning weaver, or even the brand new weaver. If you have been thinking about wanting to learn to weave, then this blog is for you. Throughout the blog and videos I take you step by step through each and every process of weaving. I want you to be successful in weaving the very first time you try. For the intermediate and advanced weaver, my wish is that you take ideas that I show, mix them up a bit, and incorporate them into your own beautiful creations.

Happy Weaving and Baskets of Blessings to all my visitors,

Nancy

Recycled Box Becomes Valentine Basket

Dear Friends,
As I was putting the trash in the recycle bin I had a paper heart laying near a box and the inspiration for this craft just took hold. I could use the corner of a box, the 90 degree angle as the point of a heart and make a heart basket.

I started by using this TV dinner box, but a cereal box or jello box, any size really would work. To the left of the box is a piece of junk mail. I just needed a scrap piece of paper again for the 90 degree angle as I needed the corner of it.

Fold the piece of scrap paper diagonally to make now a 45 degree angle.

Cut a semi circle along the top of it. When opened it now makes a heart shape.

Open the heart shape paper and place on the box. Trace around the heart on both the front and back of the box.

See I did that here and I connected the front heart to the back heart with a short line across the side of the box.

Cut along the lines you've drawn and it should look like this.

Cover box front, back and sides with pretty paper and embellish as desired. I punched holes at the top to attach ribbon and make a handle.
What a fun way to recycle something that would have gone in the trash.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Enjoy!
