May Your Life Be Like A Basket...Useful...Bountiful...Beautiful...

Basketmaster's Weavings is about my passions, much of which revolves around basket weaving. I weave with reed and I love teaching others to weave. Many of the patterns and styles that I show in the blog are geared to the beginning weaver, or even the brand new weaver. If you have been thinking about wanting to learn to weave, then this blog is for you. Throughout the blog and videos I take you step by step through each and every process of weaving. I want you to be successful in weaving the very first time you try. For the intermediate and advanced weaver, my wish is that you take ideas that I show, mix them up a bit, and incorporate them into your own beautiful creations.

Happy Weaving and Baskets of Blessings to all my visitors,

Nancy

Feature a Basketweaving Friend - Nita

Dear Friends,
I'd like to introduce you to Nita who e-mailed me with these beautiful photos. Nita started weaving in 1988 and had only ONE class! After that she got a book and was off weaving on her own. Just look at the variety of beautiful baskets.
In the photo below I want to call your attention to the basket with the steer head. That is a coiled basket with round reed and raffia. Beautiful!

Thank you so much Nita for letting me share your photos with everyone. We all love the inspiration you have given us.
Baskets of Blessings to you all,
Nancy

Nancy -

Thank you so much for the nice comment you left about our first basket. I wish we had seen your blog before we started! These baskets, and all the other baskets on your site, are stunningly beautiful. I think you may have inspired us to try our hand at another one.

Nita sure took to that, didn't she. When I was visiting in New York once my son's friend gave me a basket she had woven with the "eye of God" she called it. I a have a lot of the Longerburger baskets but only that one that someone I know did. Thanks for sharing.
