Dear Friends,I'd like to introduce you to Kelly Lynch from Mexico. Kelly found me on YouTube and decided to weave her very FIRST basket and it is made from cereal boxes and grocery sacks. She says they don't have recycling in her country so she is glad to find a use for items that would get thrown away.
Kelly finds this to be relaxing and states that she likes how it makes her feel connected to women who have gone before her.

Kelly has a website over at The Rabbit Hole which is a treasury of Alice In Wonderland items. My children have seen the new movie and loved it. Be sure to visit her site to follow the rabbit and enter into the hole.

Wow, that is too cool. I would love to get her instructions. This would be a great project for my kids for Earth day in April. That would be a great item for Show and Tell.

@CJ - I just followed Nancy's easy instructions on YouTube for the Receipe Basket. Instead of the reeds - I cut 3/4" strips of cardboard from cereal or cracker boxes. Instead of the thinner reed - I cut 1/4" strip of cardboard. Instead of reed lacing, I used 1 1/2" strips of grocery bags and twisted them for strength, then laced the top of the basket. It was fun and easy using Nancy's videos.
