I made a cute basket to hold a shopping list or notes. Actually I've made a number of these little baskts. They take about 50 minutes to weave. I used 5/8" flat for the side stakes and I used 1/2" flat for the front and back stakes. The weavers were 3/8" flat and 1/4" flat. The spiral was 11/64" flat/oval and the round reed was #2. The hanger on the back is made from #2 round reed that has been coiled into a circle.
This basket makes a perfect teacher appreiation gift.
Blessings,
Nancy

This is so funny! I decided to check my email and blogs before beginning my next basket, and lo and behold, this is the basket I was going to start on! I got the pattern from basketpatterns.com, and I've found that these notepad baskets are always a big hit at arts and crafts fairs. I never thought about giving them as teacher appreciation gifts, but yes, they would be perfect!
