Isn't this a fun project? We have been making loads of these for Christmas gifts all personalized for the receiver of the gift. They are just rubber stamped stone coasters. The step-by-step video on how to make them is below. It has been fun for me and easy for the kids to do. We Are That Family hosts a Works for me Wednesdays. This frugal and usefal idea really works for me. Be sure to stop over at We Are That Family for more Works for Me Wednesday ideas!
Here are four coasters in my Mini Muffin Basket along with a coffee mug full of tea.
This is a really fun and inexpensive craft. The rubber stamps I used were made in the 1990's but are still being sold. The company that makes them is River City Rubber Works.
I also wated to mention, that the Stazon ink I used comes in colors other than black which would be really neat to use. I wish I would have had brown Stazon ink for the baskets.
The tiles from Lows are located in the tile department. They are the 4" non-glazed ones and are just like the stone coasters you get at the store except these were only .28 each.
Enjoy!

My friends and I made these one year for Christmas for coworker gifts and stocking stuffers. They were probably one of the most popular gifts I have ever made and they are sooooooo easy and inexpensive.

Hey! I made a whole big bunch of coasters today! A friend of mine invited me to a coaster making party. I can't put the photos on my blog, since they're Christmas gifts for people who read there, but I'll send you a photo later! It was a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! Especially if placed inside your mini-muffin basket with a personalized coffee mug. Thanks so much for posting this!

I LOVE this...I'm making the Mini Muffin Basket to put the coasters in too. It's such a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI'm making these this year too - Hubby and me are going out to get the supplies this weekend.
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nifty gift. I've never seen these before -- they're super cute :)
ReplyDeleteI have some of these waiting to be stamped. I worked with small tiles first about a month ago and now I can go on to the bigger projects! BTW, I just spent hours looking at the stamp site. Made a wish list too! Glad to see you used Bigelow products!l
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I wish I would have seen this a couple months ago :)
ReplyDeleteI have been searching for your stamp with the N and the owl and I can't find it anywhere!!! Can you please let me know where you got that stamp?
Thank you!
Danielle
The stamp with the owl is two stamps. The letter "n" is from a monogram stamp set and the owl is a clear stamp that came as a set from Costco. I believe the company is Hero Arts but I won't swear to it. If you have a Cricut machine, they have an owl similar in their Stamping Solutions cartridge that you can make your own stamp with.
ReplyDeleteHTH!

This is an really awesome idea! I have loads of friends getting married this summer and this is a great gift that looks nice, but doesn't cost me a fortune!
ReplyDeleteI think these make a great gift. You did a great job, thanks for sharing.
