The green was done using a single crochet. I just grabbed the front loop while crocheting. I've learned I can change the pattern next time by grabbing just the back loop or the entire loop.
This was made with a double crochet stitch. Both dishcloths used 2 oz worsted 100% cotton yarn and I used an H hook. I have two other dishcloths well underway. I know my stitches aren't perfect, but for my first projects, I'm happy with the results! This is an Easter Egg tree that I made. I saw something similar in a Pottery Barn advertisement and thought, "I could do that". I got a few spindly branched artificial plants and put them in a vase. I added glass marbles to the vase for stability. I took some extra plastic eggs and drilled a hole in them. Then I threaded some ribbon through the hole to make a hanger for the eggs and hung them on the branches.
Have a wonderful day.
Love,
Nancy

ReplyDeletethe knitting looks great and way to go on the cake!!!
Congratulations on learning to crochet, Nancy! The cloths look perfect! Btw, I have several free crochet patterns on the sidebar of my blog. The tulip stitch cloth is quite popular. Also, do you know about Ravelry? It's a knit and crochet community..lots of free and $$ patterns available. I'm T4knit in Ravelry.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter's cake is very cute! Well done! Looks like you have a crafty gal to follow in your footsteps. :) My 11 yr. old granddaughter loves cake decorating, too.
Good job on your first dish cloths!! They are well done. I find it so fun when you see something in a magazine or store and go home and create it for a fraction of the price. Happy first day of spring.
